Two teenagers charged over the death of an Auckland teenager at a rugby practice will face trial in February next year.

Stephen Dudley, who was 15, died in hospital in June after a fight.

Two young men aged 16 and 18 appeared at the High Court in Auckland on Wednesday.

Justice Brewer set a trial date in February next year where the teenagers will defend charges of manslaughter.

The judge said said that, because of their age, it was important to get a trial date as soon as possible.

He continued name suppression for the men, finding that naming them would cause extreme hardship.
