First schools benefit from upgrade spending

Two Auckland schools are to get multimillion-dollar upgrades.

The Government in September committed $300 million in spending over six years.

On Thursday it announced Southern Cross Campus would receive $20 million to make it more modern, while $10 million will go to Freemans Bay School because of a fast rising roll and for leaky buildings repairs.

The next schools to benefit will be revealed in 2014.
