Foreign Affairs Minister Murray McCully on Tuesday announced a package worth $2.9 million.

He said it will help fund the purchase of emergency supplies, including food, water containers, tarpaulins and generators.

Mr McCully said it also includes $750,000 for New Zealand non-government organisations working on the ground in the Philippines.
