Otago Regional Council says Lake Waihola and Tomahawk lagoon should be safe to swim in now that a bloom of toxic algae has subsided.
The council had put up warning signs around the waterways after dangerous levels of toxic blue-green algae were detected.
However, people are still being warned to avoid bright green algae and to keep animals away from it.
