Man faces charges after Karori stabbing

A man faces charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm after a stabbing in Wellington on Saturday morning.

Police said the victim was driving along Victory Avenue in Karori just after 11am with his family, when he was verbally abused by two pedestrians.

He stopped the vehicle to speak to the pair, a fight broke out, and he was stabbed in the chest.

The suspect was found hiding by police 20 minutes later and arrested.

A man will appear in the Wellington District Court on Monday on charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
