Police say they are speaking to several people in connection to 37-year old Mei Fan, who was found earlier this month in her suburban Wellington home after being violently killed.

The late Mei Fan's aunt, Fan Su Lan, says the brutal killing is beyond comprehension.

A post-mortem confirmed Ms Fan died of multiple injuries consistent with a violent and brutal attack.

Police decribed the people they are interviewing as persons of interest.

Members of Ms Fan's family travelled from China and said through a translator that her death was beyond belief and comprehension.

The family appealed to the public to help police solve the mystery of her death.

Detective Senior Sergeant John van den Heuvel said 30 officers were working on the case and the possibility of there being more than one killer is also being investigated.

He said police want particularly to establish the movements of Ms Fan and her car, a 2005 red Honda hatchback with the registration GSL128, on 8 November this year.
