Three people were taken to Christchurch Hospital on Saturday after being hit by a flying piece of wood.
A man in his 50s, a woman in her 20s, and a two-month-old baby were hit by the plywood in the central city at about 3pm.
The wood had been whipped off a nearby building by high winds.
All three suffered serious injuries, including head injuries.
