Dunne says Basin Reserve flyover process too rushed

11:36 am on 6 December 2013

United Future leader and Ohariu MP Peter Dunne says the Government is railroading the submissions process of the proposed Basin Reserve flyover in Wellington.

Public submissions closed in September and submitters evidence is due by 13 December. Those wanting to rebut those submissions have until 21 January.

Mr Dunne says that demanding rebuttal evidence in that timeframe is unreasonable.

He says it is the summer holiday period and submitters will not be able to pay detailed attention to the issues.

Minister for the Environment Amy Adams has refused his request to extend the period for the rebuttal and when the final decision is made.
