A slip has blocked State Highway 25 at Whangapoua Hill between Coromandel and Whitianga.
The highway was blocked on Saturday morning but one lane was expected to open later in the day and all restrictions should be lifted by Monday.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area or use State Highway 25a.
