CTV memorial discussed

12:36 pm on 18 December 2013

Families of those who died in the CTV building collapse in the Christchurch earthquake have met staff from the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority, over the possibility of a temporary memorial being placed at the site.

Maan Alkaisi, whose wife Maysoon Abbas was among the 115 people who died in the CTV building, has appealed to Christchurch City Council for a memorial to be erected at the site.

The Earthquake Recovery Authority says proposed interim plans for the site were discussed with Mr Alkaisi during the meeting, and he offered to share those plans with other families.

Until that happens, the authority will not discuss the details.
