A motorcyclist has died after a crash in Wairarapa which has closed the Rimutaka Hill Road linking the region and Wellington on Wednesday night.
A car was also involved in the collision near Featherston about 7.30pm on Wednesday. Police say the 37-year-old man died at the scene.
On Wednesday night police were asking motorists to postpone their travel if possible, or take the much longer alternative routes to the north.
