A man is in a serious condition in Nelson hospital after being shot at about 4am on Thursday.
Police said the incident occurred at a house in Pah Street, Motueka.
The Armed Offenders Squad was called to the house, where they found the man, in his 20s, with gunshot wounds to the stomach.
A .22 rifle was found and two people at the address are being interviewed.
