The police say they are likely to resume an aerial search on Friday for a missing British tramper.
The search was halted on Boxing Day, because of strong winds in the Nelson Lakes National Park.
Andrew Wyatt was last seen leaving the Blue Lake hut on Te Araroa track on 15 December.
The police say high alpine winds are making it too dangerous to use a helicopter to search, but the winds are forecast to ease.
Officers want to hear from anyone who has been in the area, because they are unsure exactly where he might be on the track.
