A body has washed up near where an angler went missing at the weekend.
Three people were swept out to sea while net fishing off Waikara Beach, north of Dargaville, on Saturday.
One of the men died at the scene and another was taken to hospital. Searches for the third man have continued since.
Police on Monday confirmed that a body has been found, but are not releasing any more details.
