5:05 pm on 4 January 2014

A group of teenagers has been arrested after an armed burglary at a house in South Auckland.

Police say five people, armed with knives and a gun, assaulted and threatened people at the Papakura house at about 1.30am on Saturday, before stealing electronic items.

One of the victims needed medical treatment after the attack.

Police say a patrol in the area stopped the offenders' car as it was entering a nearby property.

Officers found stolen property in the car and scattered along the route the offenders had taken.

Five people aged 15 to 19 have been charged with aggravated burglary and are due to appear in the Papakura District Court next week.
