A reward for information on a Tauranga woman who has been missing for nearly 28 years has gone unclaimed.
Luana Williams was last seen at her Munro Street home on 5 June 1986. She was 25 when she went missing and her disappearance is being treated as a homicide.
In November last year, police offered a $50,000 reward for information which could help solve the mystery and lead to the conviction of anyone responsible for Ms Williams' disappearance or death.
Detective Inspector Mark Loper says while calls police received provided some useful information, they did not pinpoint any new people of interest in the case.
A $20,000 reward in 1994 was also unsuccessful.
