6:57 am on 11 February 2014

The London Ambulance Service is seeking to hire 100 paramedics from New Zealand and Australia.

The service has 250 vancancies, and is recruiting from overseas for the first time.

St John Ambulance chief executive Peter Bradley said he does not expect many New Zealand paramedics to leave for Britain.

"They might be tempted but I think it's a pretty good job over here. We've got good working conditions and a beautiful country."

Mr Bradley said any paramedics who do take up the job offer will have to do more training once they get to Britain.
