At least one person has been injured in a serious car crash on State Highway 1 at Kinleith.
The southern side of the road is closed at the intersection of State Highway 1 and State Highway 30 on Wednesday night and police say motorists heading south should travel via State Highway 32.
They are also urging northbound traffic to divert to State Highway 5 via Rotorua.
Ambulance and fire workers are on-site and the Serious Crash Unit will be investigating.
