An Otago washing machine repairman has pleaded not guilty to 95 charges of sexually assaulting boys.

Leonard Mulholland, 71, of Palmerston, made the pleas in the Dunedin District Court Thursday morning.

The alleged offending happened between 1980 and 2010, when police say Mr Mulholland was a travelling serviceman.

The charges involve 10 complainants from across the Otago region, from Alexandra to Oamaru.

Police have previously called on the public to come forward with more information about Mr Mulholland and his activities. He will reappear in court on 1 May.
