Track operating again after derailment

4:46 pm on 2 March 2014

A derailed train has been removed from Auckland's southern rail line by a crane and the track is now expected to be back in operation.

The train derailed early on Sunday morning and rolled onto its side, injuring two staff.

There were no passengers on board.

Transdev managing director Terry Scott says KiwiRail has repaired a section of rail damaged in the incident.

Buses have been replacing trains between Otahuhu and Britomart but Mr Scott says trains will be running on Sunday night for people to get to the final Bruce Springsteen concert at Mount Smart stadium.
