A man's body has been found near the mouth of the Kahurangi River on the West Coast.
Police say the body was found by two trampers above the high tide mark while they were walking along the beach on Sunday morning.
The man was wearing a wetsuit and items believed to belong to him were also found at the beach.
Police say the body has been taken to Greymouth so the man can be identified and the cause of death determined.
