Jogger attacked in Auckland gardens

2:22 pm on 12 March 2014

Police in Auckland are looking for a man who attacked a jogger in the Botanic Gardens on Wednesday morning.

They say the woman was running through the park at about 8.30am when a man grabbed her from behind, and tried to pull her off the path. She managed to get away.

Police have CCTV footage, and say the man is about 180 centimetres tall, of skinny build with dark skin. He was wearing a turquoise-coloured hoodie, black pants and socks but no shoes.

Five women aged between 17 and 55 were indecently assaulted in the gardens last September and October, but police say it's too soon to know whether the latest attack is linked.
