The jury in the trial of four people accused of fatally beating a Featherston supermarket worker has again retired for the night.

Glen Jones' severely injured body was found in his home in January last year and he later died in Wellington Hospital.

Matthew McKinney, Hayden Ranson, Kristopher Jones and Tariana Jones are before the High Court in Wellington charged with murder.

Jurors began their deliberations just before 4pm on Wednesday and were sent home after an hour.

After another seven hours of considering the evidence on Thursday, Justice Mackenzie again sent them home. They will resume deliberations at 10am on Friday.
