10:17 pm on 27 March 2014

Police are investigating a spate of burglaries in a township near Dunedin.

They say 13 burglaries have occurred in and around Mosgiel in the past three weeks, and several vehicles have been broken into and damaged.

The main targets have been houses in Gladstone Road and cars and houses in Lanark Street.

In the latest incident on Wednesday night, two men entered a house in King Street but were disturbed by the elderly man living there.

Police are asking Mosgiel residents keep a sharp lookout and report any suspicious behaviour.
