2:26 pm on 9 April 2014

A woman who threatened her ex-partner with a sex video has been found guilty of blackmail, in the High Court in Auckland.

The woman threatened to show her ex-partner's new wife a video she recorded of them having sex, after he refused to let their seven-year old daughter move with her to Wellington.

The man, who has name suppression, admitted he had an affair with his ex-partner after he was married and told the court his actions were reckless and abhorrent.

The woman, whose name is also suppressed to protect the identity of their daughter, denied making an intimate visual recording and using it to blackmail.

She stared at the ground and wiped away tears after the jury found her guilty of both charges.

She has been granted bail and will be sentenced in early June.
