Property development company Porter Group has been granted resource consent to build a Pak' n Save and Mitre 10 Mega store in Frankton.
Group chief executive Alastair Porter says the Queenstown Lakes District Council granted the consent after independent planning commissioners found the stores would promote economic growth.
He says the company is working with the Transport Agency to ensure the necessary roads are built in time for next winter.
