A former teacher at a well-known Auckland school has been charged with doing an indecent act in a classroom.
The man appeared in the Auckland District Court on Wednesday, but is yet to enter a plea to the charge, which carries a maximum sentence of two years in prison.
His lawyer Richard Earwaker says it's too early in proceedings to make any comment.
The names of he man and the school where he taught have been suppressed.
The Teachers Council register shows the man's practising certificate has been suspended. He is due back in court in May.
