The NRL Integrity Unit is investigating a sex tape involving a member of the New Zealand Warriors, Konrad Hurrell, and a well-known actress.
The video surfaced on the internet on Sunday night.
It appears it was filmed on a phone and circulated on social messaging service Instagram before being deleted.
Shortland Street star Teuila Blakely has confirmed she is the woman in the footage, which she says was taken two months ago.
A Warriors spokesperson said management was investigating.
NRL chief operating officer Jim Doyle said its integrity unit is looking into the incident.
