Guilty plea over hunting death

A man has pleaded guilty to shooting and killing another man while hunting in a Southland forest.

Wayne Andrew Edgerton, 56, fatally shot Adam David Hill, 25, in Longwood Forest last month.

In the Invercargill District Court on Tuesday, Edgerton admitted a charge of carelessly using a firearm causing death.

He will appear for sentencing on 24 June.
