Two men who fled in a stolen car and disappeared into the Waikato River are now in police custody.
Police said the pair, aged 20, abandoned the car after a short chase north of Taupo on Monday.
A dive squad joined the search on Tuesday morning after police said they had increasing concerns for the safety of the men.
But police found them at a rural property at about 10.30am and they are now in custody.
