Dunedin police say they have wound up their search for a missing prisoner.

Stephen Uriah Maddren, a remand inmate, got away from his escort just inside the Otago Correctional Facility near Milton after returning from a court appearance on Tuesday afternoon.
Search and Rescue teams and three police dogs spent Wednesday searching a forest area near the prison and neighbouring properties, but have failed to find him.
Police said they would will continue making inquiries.
Maddren is described as Pakeha, approximately 171centimetres tall, with brown or black shoulder-length hair.
The 25-year-old has no teeth and was last seen wearing green trackpants and a green top.
Police say he should not be approached.
