Police have arrested a third person in relation to the alleged robbery of an Ashburton man who was found dead in a pond at an industrial park on Sunday.
Police are now treating the death of Arran Gairns as unexplained after previously saying that his death was a drowning and not suspicious.
A 26-year-old man from Ashburton is to appear in the Timaru District Court on Friday morning charged with assaulting the 34-year-old with intent to rob.
On Wednesday, a 26-year-old woman from Wellington appeared in court on the same charges, while another person was arrested on Thursday.
The charges relate to an incident on Saturday.
