A Dutch tourist who escaped from immigration custody at Christchurch Airport on Friday, has been denied entry to New Zealand.
Michael Alexander Stockermans, who is 24, had several police officers and a dog unit searching for him, and was located by police last night.
An Immigration New Zealand spokesperson said the man will be returned home on the next available flight.
The authorities did not say why he was being refused entry to New Zealand.
