The mother of a Whanganui man police believe was murdered has made an impassioned plea for the whereabouts of his body to be revealed.

Brett Hall has not been seen for almost three years after going missing from his farm property in 2011.

An extensive search of his property and surrounding bush involving more than 80 army, police and search and rescue personnel, of his property and surrounding bush failed to find any trace of him.

Lee Hall said on Monday she accepts that her son was murdered. She wants closure and for someone to tell her where he is.

"Somebody's done it and those people know who they are, and I'm sure others know who they are. If somebody knows anything, it would just be so great for the family to have our boy back and be able to have closure and a funeral."
