Services resume on Kapiti line

12:53 pm on 10 July 2014

Services on a section of the Kapiti train line in Wellington resumed on Thursday after cancellations caused by a small trackside fire knocking out overhead power to trains.

The fire was the result of a fault with a train's traction system and trains were stopped between Paekakariki and Plimmerton.

TranzMetro said the fault had been fixed.
