A man's been charged with murdering a five month-old baby in Pukekohe south of Auckland.
The police said the girl died on Thursday and a post mortem has shown she suffered a fractured skull and a broken leg.
They said the arrested man, who is 24, knew the baby girl.
He appeared in the Manukau District Court this morning. The man's details, and that of the baby, have been suppressed .
He is being kept in custody until an appearance in the High Court in Auckland on Wednesday.
