A Christchurch man who was initially told he'd won $14,000 on Lotto was blown away when he found out it was actually $14 million.
He's claimed the major prize after the weekend draw.
The man said the mistake with the amount was quickly cleared up, and he hopped on a plane to claim the money.
He said he quit his job as soon as he found out and the most important thing for him now was helping his family.
It is the fourth largest prize won in the South Island and the 19th largest lottery prize ever won in New Zealand.
