A person has been flown to hospital by helicopter with serious injuries after a car collided with a truck loaded with sand near Auckland.
The crash at 2.30pm on Wednesday has closed State Highway 2 at Mangatawhiri, not far from the Bombay Hills turnoff.
Police said they expect the road to be closed for several hours while they investigate the crash and clear the wreckage.
