A man is dead after falling from a hotel balcony in Hokitika.
Police said the man was holidaying with his wife and friends when he fell 16 metres from the third floor balcony at the Beach Front Hotel about midnight.
They said they were still working to establish the circumstances surrounding the 58-year-old's fall.
