A doctor who is serving home detention for sexual assaults on two children has lost his registration to work as a doctor.
The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal said the unnamed man must meet conditions if he ever wants to work as a doctor again.
The doctor was convicted last September of indecent assault on two brothers, aged six and 11, when he was 65 years old.
The tribunal said the doctor was a close family friend, and was invited into the home to help him recover following the suicide of his own son.
It said it was a first offence in an unblemished 24-year career but the offending against young, vulnerable children was repugnant.
The doctor must pay $6000 in costs.
