A Liberian-flagged vessel detained at the Port of Tauranga will set sail this afternoon.
The Vega Auriga arrived at the port on Sunday but Maritime New Zealand stopped it from leaving until 11 problems found with the ship were fixed.
The vessel was banned from Australian ports because of the treatment of workers and its unseaworthiness.
Maritime New Zealand said it completed an inspection and is now satisfied the ship is seaworthy.
