A man charged with the murder of a prominent gang member's son in Auckland has taken his bid to keep his name suppressed to the Court of Appeal.
A registrar at the Court confirmed this morning an appeal had been received.
In the High Court in Auckland on Wednesday, Justice Brewer declined to continue a suppression order but gave the man's lawyer two days to lodge an appeal.
The 33-year-old man has denied murdering Connor Morris during a street fight in West Auckland last month.
The suppression order remains in place until the appeal is heard, at a date not yet set.
The man is due to stand trial in August next year.
