Dotcom material ordered to be returned

1:17 pm on 8 September 2014

The Court of Appeal has ruled internet businessman Kim Dotcom should get some of the electronic material police seized returned to him.

The court said it accepted there had been a number of technical issues around the material, including those arising from encryption.

Mr Dotcom's lawyer argued it was a breach of his client's rights to be denied access to his own information.

The court has now ordered police to release cloned material as soon as practicable.
