Corey James McLean, who was 16, was described as a hero for helping a pregnant friend escape from the burning house before dying in the flames.

Friend and neighbour of the woman Julie Stechman said people had offered donations of bedding, food and clothes.

She said the next step was to try and get the family a house.

Ms Stetchman said her friend lived at the property with her three teenage children and often fostered children and helps people in need.

Fire and Police investigators are contining to examine the scene today and hope to determine the cause by tomorrow.
