Bradley Richard Ivan Stempa, from Coalgate, was one of two people fishing at the lake yesterday.

The 21-year-old swam to retrieve the boat and is not believed to have been wearing a life jacket. His body was recovered from the lake this afternoon by the national police dive squad.

Police said Mr Stempa's family and friends have asked for complete privacy and will not be commenting on his death.

The case has been referred to the coroner.
