A 53-year-old man accused of threatening to blow up the Accident Compensation Corporation's office in central Whangarei is due to appear in court today.
Police were alerted to a threatening phone call made to the national ACC call centre about 11am yesterday.
Police said some nearby buildings to the ACC office on Walton Street were evacuated for a brief period as a precaution.
The man was due to appear in the Whangarei District Court this morning.
