A man is in a critical condition in Auckland hospital after being hit by a taxi on Queen St early this morning.
Police said the taxi driver was not carrying passengers and was travelling at a low speed when he hit the man who was crossing the road about 2am.
The pedestrian, aged between 20 and 30 years suffered head injuries.
Part of Queen Street had been closed while the police investigate.
