Search and rescue officials have spent the day searching without success for a helicopter missing since Tuesday morning in Kahurangi National Park.
Four helicopters and five ground teams totalling 20 searchers have been involved.
The search will continue tomorrow, with two fresh ground teams being brought in to replace two existing teams who have been toiling in steep terrain.
The Robinson 44 helicopter with just the pilot on board went missing en route from Karamea to Nelson.
