Firefighters have successfully contained an ammonia gas leak at a Hamilton meat factory.
Staff from the Goodman Fielder Frankton Meats company on Lincoln Street had to be evacuated after the leak at about 10am this morning.
A Fire Service spokesman said 12 appliances and 40 fire-fighters would remain at the scene until it was confirmed no dangerous levels of gas remained.
One southbound lane of Lincoln Street, State Highway One, was still closed due to the incident.
