The armed offenders squad has raided three properties in Whanganui today in a search for drugs, firearms and stolen property.
About 10 squad officers were involved because of fears of firearms at one of the addresses, all on Abbot Street.
The operation, which included police dogs, began at 9am.
Detective Senior Sergeant Neil Forlong said one person had been arrested for disorderly behaviour during the raid, but as yet no charges have been laid in relation to the search warrants.
Mr Forlong said the search was part of an ongoing investigation.
